Monday – was considered a holiday, even though I was ready to get back to work. Most of the rest of the workweek was spent re-establishing routine and momentum.
I broke ground on G’s playhouse. Despite how it looks in the how-to videos on YouTube, setting posts via batter boards is a tedious process. For the unfamiliar, it’s important for structure and stability that corners are square and that posts are in the right place. The site for the playhouse is on irregular terrain, so no two corners are at the same elevation.
Trying to construct and level batter boards once the initial stakes are in the ground is no good. Next time, I plan to construct the batter boards and then drive them into the ground. I’m hopeful that once the footings and posts are set, the rest of the playhouse construction will be more straightforward.
