My 20-year high school reunion is coming up next month, and I’m pretty sure that I’m not going.
My tenth came and went, and the same cliques were still in place.
Time has had a desaturating effect on my memory of high school and college. I’m now at a point where high school seems a lifetime ago. Even the deepest of the relationships I had with friends at that time have been reduced to memories and Facebook profiles. Social media and other technology have filled whatever void might have developed had they not come along as far as they have.
Life these days is focused on providing for my wife and son – and by living by my core values. I imagine many, if not most in my graduating class are in the same boat. I make it back to Norman once or twice a year, and that has been satisfying enough for the past several years.
